THREE WAYS TO COMBINE MEN'S SUIT PATTERNS

MIX AND MATCH PATTERNS

The first way is to match your men's suit with the same pattern. In general, all motifs of men's suits will be divided into four groups.

  • Plaid pattern (check)

  • Vertical stripes pattern (stripes)

  • Repeating patterns (paisley, polka dot patterns, etc.)

  • Woven pattern (herringbone or hopsack)

When mixing your men's suit according to pattern, apply combinations with different groups. Avoid mixing patterns in the same group, for example, mixing vertical stripes with vertical stripes or checkered stripes with checkered stripes. In case you don't know how to combine and want to find a safe way, use monochromatic, solid colors to balance the combination with a group of patterns.

MIX ACCORDING TO PATTERN SIZE

Considering and paying attention to pattern size is also important. When mixing patterns onto your men's suit, the sizes of the patterns need to be different. To make it easier to imagine, imagine you combine the sizes of three patterns on a suit, one pattern must be small, one must be medium size and one pattern must be very small. Balancing the size of patterns when combining shows sophistication and reasonableness in coordinating.

COMBINE WITH FOCUS

The next way you can apply when combining a suit is to combine it with accents. The distribution of pattern focus can also be understood as combining the levels of visual appeal of the pattern. When coordinating your men's suit, distinguish between "bold" and "showy" patterns. When you combine two patterns together on a men's suit, one pattern should be lighter than the other, and the other pattern should stand out and attract the attention of others. One pattern should have sophistication, one pattern should be bold and eye-catching but not too overwhelming the other pattern. Let's take a look with The Sages at some examples illustrating the combination of patterns with a beautiful suit:

SOME THINGS TO AVOID WHEN MIXING MEN'S SUIT PATTERNS

After learning about some ways to combine patterns with men's suits, you should not forget about some things to avoid when combining patterns with your beautiful suit. Because if you don't pay attention, your suit can completely be mismatched and become a "fashion disaster".

DON'T MIX STRIPED PATTERNS FROM BEGINNING TO END

Striped patterns have gradually become popular in recent decades and have become very diverse. We can mention horizontal stripes, vertical stripes, thick stripes, thin stripes, etc. However, you should avoid mixing from beginning to end with stripes, especially the upper body is horizontal stripes, and the lower body is stripes. vertical, and vice versa. Additionally, don't forget to pay attention to the width of the stripes if you intend to mix striped patterns together.

DON'T WEAR MORE THAN 3 PRODUCTS ON YOUR BODY

If you are a beginner taking your first steps in mixing patterns and clothes, don't wear more than three products. Imagine you mix up your suit with striped patterns along with polka dots and floral patterns, you will look too much and others will think you are preparing to go to a fashion show.

DON'T MIX TOO MANY COLORS ON YOUR BODY

When mixing colors and patterns on a suit, you should not mix too many colors because this can look discolored or overdone. The best and safest way is to use the same color tone to coordinate your suit, for example gray and black. Along with that, you can add a few small patches of color with accessories such as pocket squares or ties.
